The morning in Nantucket started as usual with a refreshing morning dip. Afterwards, we ventured into the village of Nantucket to walk around and enjoy ourselves. At around 1100, we returned to the vessel, and began our journey back to Marion. It was apparent, that it was going to be a fast sail home as soon as we left Nantucket Harbor. As we passed Brant Point, we threw pennies into the ocean, given to us by Mrs. Phelan P ’96…

This morning we were woken up at six o’clock, had morning dip right away, and the water was beautiful. After our daily game of keep away, we enjoyed a great breakfast thanks to Chef Tucker. We started our engines at 0700 and set off for Nantucket. On the way we split up into our watches: one did a science lab while the other did bow lookout. During the lab we looked for zooplankton found in the water collected by Finn…

This morning we awoke at 0600, which we are still getting accustomed to. We all jumped into the water, not expecting it to be numbing to the bone. Then we got out of the water, which gave the air a refreshing, warm feeling. Soon after, we ate a delicious breakfast of pancakes and fruit cooked by Tucker. Shortly after, we heard the graceful voice from Thibaut calling us to rise from our bunks for our daily morning dip. We passed the time by doing flips off the ratlines off the bow…

We started our Tabor Boy orientation this afternoon. We all checked in, and everyone got acquainted with each other with name games and other fun activities. Next, we set out on the launch to the Tabor Boy! Once on board, we met the awesome crew! They showed us the ropes- literally. Then we went to pick our bunks and put our gear away. We put on our swimsuits and jumped right in for our swim test. After the test, we…

“Out of your bunks and into your trunks, time to go swimming!” Our day starts with Thibaut’s classic wake up call. The morning was windier than usual so that meant sailing! As we finished up our breakfast of eggs and bacon, Ms. Sabol announced that we were going to Bull Island for a lab. We all got into our bright orange PFDs and headed towards the quarterdeck, where Captain Randall awaited in the inflatable. When we got on the island…
