We were woken up at 6:05 to the Bosun’s whistle and the call of “It’s 6:05, it’s time to dive, get in your trunks, and prepare to thrive.” After calisthenics, we jumped in the water at Hadley’s Harbor and started an intense Waboba game. Yesterday was the third day aboard the Tabor Boy. In the morning, we woke up thirty minutes later than usual to soggy weather. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pancakes and sausage. After breakfast, we boarded a small vessel to journey to Penikese Island where we were educated about its vast history and wildlife along with facts about marine biology and ecosystems in the Northern Atlantic. We woke up at 6am sharp on this glorious 4th of July and were faced with a swim test. The water was not as cold as most of us expected, so that was a pleasant surprise. Arriving at Tabor was nerve wracking. When everyone had arrived, we split from our parents and played ice breakers. We played a lot of fun games including Two Truths and A Lie and Human Knot (Tabor: 1, Human Knot: 1).
