We woke up in Fairhaven Shipyard, at 6:00 a.m. We didn’t have our morning dip. We left Fairhaven through New Bedford Harbor and anchored in Clark’s Cove. After breakfast, we tested the water and were taken ashore to visit the UMass Marine Science Center. We learned about AUVs, ROVs, and about how they are used to study the water temperature, salinity, density, and weather patterns. Today we woke up around 6, after a successful sleep that was not as interrupted as many of us anticipated. On our first day, we all met at the Tabor dock at 9 am. After introductions by the Tabor faculty and program director, our parents went to explore the vessel while we stayed back and played icebreakers.
