Splash! Into the cold water we went, playing a morning game of Waboba. Starboard watch won their fifth game, with a not so close match against Port watch who has only won one game so far. The warm smell of cinnamon muffins trickled into our noses while we got ready for the day. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Moored in Leinster Bay, we strapped on our wetsuits, grabbed our gear and departed for our first research dive of the day…

We started the day off right with some delicious pancakes made by Tucker. We then set sail at from Norman Island bound for St. John. We sailed by Soper’s Hole, where the crew left in a small boat to check out of British waters. We made our downwind to Cruz Bay on St. John and recorded Chlorophyll A on the fluorometer every five minutes.  Once we anchored, we cleared customs in the USVI. We then explored the downtown area, going…

Written By: Sam and Mason   We rose bright and early at 6:30 for a quick morning dip and a tasty breakfast. After dishes and general clean-up, we prepared to set sail from Virgin Gorda’s North Sound for the lengthy downwind sail towards The Bight at Norman Island. We arrived at 1400 and anchored in The Bight. By 1500 we were taking the small boats from the Tabor Boy for our first dive with full science gear. This practice dive…

This morning we woke up at 0630 to a nice sunrise and a refreshing morning dip. We got underway from Salt Island while we were eating breakfast and headed for The Baths of Virgin Gorda. After an hour underway, we anchored off Devil’s Bay at Virgin Gorda and changed into our snorkel gear to explore The Baths. Before snorkeling, we were assigned our dive teams and also learned how to use the underwater cameras. We saw lots of different species…

“Get out of your bunks and into your trunks it’s time to go swimming!” We woke to Thibaut’s call for morning dip at 0630. The aroma of bacon and eggs made morning calisthenics worthwhile. Morning dip was highlighted by starboard watch’s victory in wobooba keep-away. Soon after we raised the anchor and set sail away from Norman Island to Salt Island. The three hour voyage was filled with laughs and blistering heat. Along the way we measured chlorophyll A concentrations…

Today, we started off on a long sail, which began our voyage on the Tabor Boy. We woke up after spending the night in Vessup Bay on St. Thomas. We started the day with morning calisthenics and a quick dip in the bay, where starboard watch won the first game of “Woboba” ball. We set all the sails, and tacked up the windward passage, and up to the Narrows. Making good time we anchored in Soper’s hole, where the vessel…
